หลักในการทำงาน ของระบบ Booster Pump คือ การรักษาแรงดันภายในระบบ ให้มีความคงที่สม่ำเสมอ โดยอาศัยการทำงานของ ( Pressure Switch Main ) เป็นตัวตัดต่อการทำงานการทำงานระบบ Booster pump ที่นิยมกันจะเป็นแบบ ทำงานสลับ และเสริมช่วย ( Alternate/Parallel)ประกอบด้วย ปั๊มน้ำจำนวน 2 ตัว สลับทำ และ จะเสริมช่วยอีกตัวเพื่อใช้ปรับตั้งแรงดันตามความต้องการ
